Cutest Fundraiser in Delta – DSS Pet Photo Fundraiser a Big Hit

Category: DistrictSchool

The Delta Secondary School yearbook committee held a unique fundraiser last week for the Delta Animal Shelter.

Staff, students, and the community were invited to bring their pets to DSS for a Christmas-themed portrait session. The event was a way to raise some funds for the yearbook, and also give back to the community.

The Yearbook Committee was very excited by the turnout on Wednesday, with dozens of dogs (with their owners) lining up for a photo—but most surprising were the unique pets who also showed up with their owners.

“We had lots of dogs come,” said a member of the yearbook committee, “But we also had a goldfish, a bird… and a snake!”

Principal Jeanette Beaulieu says of the event, “It was a very cute afternoon, and the yearbook students made about $150.00 to donate to the Delta Animal Shelter. Perhaps a new annual tradition is born at DSS.”
