At the inaugural Board meeting on November 2, the Delta School District Board of Education re-elected long-time trustee Val Windsor to serve as Chairperson of the seven-member board.
Windsor, who has served on the Board since 2011, held the position of Vice-Chairperson from 2013–2018. She was elected Chairperson for the first time in 2019.
Daniel Boisvert will continue in the role of Vice-Chairperson for the upcoming year. He has served on the Delta Board of Education since 2018 and was elected Vice-Chairperson for the first time last year.
The Board of Education Chair and Vice-Chair are elected annually.
Val Windsor
Val Windsor is a retired teacher whose involvement in public education spans 49 years. Her work as a Trustee includes serving on the Indigenous Education and Inclusive Education committees in Delta, as well as being the Vice-Chair for the Metro Vancouver ELL Consortium, a group that advocates for services for immigrant and refugee students. Chairperson Windsor is also a dedicated and busy community volunteer in Delta.
Daniel Boisvert
Daniel Boisvert, commissioned as a notary public in 2008, has resided in Delta for more than 40 years. His two children attend public school in Delta. His work as a Trustee includes serving as Chair of the Audit Committee.
