The draft budget was released on Thursday, April 9 and published on the Delta School District website – www.deltasd.bc.ca
Due to the physical distancing requirements now in place as a result of COVID-19, board meetings in April are being held via conference call. Click here for more information on the new process.
As a result, the process for the public to provide their input on the draft budget has also changed:
- The Draft Budget Input Public Meeting on Tuesday, April 14 at the Delta School Board office has been cancelled.
- Instead, we are extending the public input period and asking members of the public to send their feedback and/or questions via email to budget@deltasd.bc.ca by end of day, Thursday, April 16, 2020*.
- At the regular board meeting (held via conference call) on Tuesday, April 21, the Delta School Board will discuss public input on the budget that has been received via email. A transcript of the meeting will be made available on the district’s website within 24 hours of the meeting. Answers to questions from the public will also be posted on the district’s website.
- The annual budget will be presented to the Board of Education for approval at an additional board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 (held via conference call). This final budget will incorporate changes requested by the Board. A transcript of the meeting will be made available on the district’s website within 24 hours of the meeting.
Many thanks to the stakeholders who have already provided their input on specific aspects of the budget to the board at the stakeholder input session held on February 25, 2020.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Tracey Nelson-Trick at (604) 952-5340.
An update on the process for regular Board meetings being held in May and June will be provided at the end of April. Regular meetings will be held in July or August at the call of the board chair for emergency business only.
*NOTE: Feedback and/or questions must list your name, affiliation to any partner group organization and your city of residence in your email. The feedback/question will be read to the Board by a staff member and answered accordingly. If the question that you asked is not answered during the meeting, a written response will be provided.
